高校入試に向けて、中３受験生は追い込みに入っています。入試の英語では、リスニングのほかは、長文形式の出題で、入試本番までに長文を読み込んできた経験値（多読・精読の量）が大切になります。

2021年私立高入試（八戸聖ウルスラ学院）

問題

次の英文は、高校生の友奈 (Yuna) について書かれたものです。これを読んで、あとの(1)〜(3)に答えなさい。*印の語などには、文章のあとに(注)があります。

　Yuna is a high school student. She loves *fashion, and her dream is to work at a *clothing store. One day in her school, she learned a lot of problems about clothing. Her teacher said, "Do you know why we can buy new clothing at a cheap price? Because they are made in other countries, and the workers work at *low wages. Also, we *throw away clothing easily. We know recycling is important, but it is difficult to do it." Yuna wanted to do something to change the *situation.

　Yuna found two friends who would help her. Their idea was to open a *secondhand clothing store. Yuna thought, "If people get interested in old clothing, we don't have to throw them away. This is a good idea for recycling." However, Yuna and her friends didn't know how they could get old clothing to sell, and didn't know where they could open the store.

　When they asked their teacher about their problems, he smiled and said, "You can ask the *local people for help. In this town, there are many people who want to make this town better." Then, they decided to talk with them about their idea. At first, Yuna was worried. She thought, "They may not like our idea and laugh at us." However, when she told them the idea, they liked it, and they said they were happy to support her. One of them said, "We will have *a flea market next month. You can sell old clothing there." Another person said, "I work at a newspaper company. On the newspaper, we can ask people to bring their old clothing to you."

　Yuna and her friends started working for the flea market. They talked many times with the local people. They also made posters about the problems of clothing and the importance of recycling. They were going to use them at the flea market. About 100 old pieces of clothing were sent to them. They were happy because a lot of people sent the old clothing.

　On the day of the flea market, Yuna and her friends were surprised that most of the clothing were sold. They were also glad that many people looked at the posters and got interested in recycling. At the end of the day, Yuna thought, "It was a big surprise. We had nothing at first, but today we could open the store. I hope people will be interested in recycling more."
