問題

次の英文は、中学3年生のリリカ (Ririka) が書いた文章です。これを読んで、あとの (1) ~ (3) に答えなさい。

　Most Japanese junior high school students have a smartphone. In my case, my parents bought one for me when I was in my second year of junior high school. I have many kinds of *apps on my smartphone. When I use these apps, I can talk to my friends, play games, watch fun videos and enjoy cool music. This is great entertainment for me!

　My smartphone has become the most necessary tool in my daily life. For example, sometimes I use my smartphone at home to study online with my friends. This is a nice way to communicate with them, and it is a lot of fun for us. I think if we use smartphones at school, our grades will improve. However, many junior high schools do not allow students to bring smartphones to school. It is very sad. I wish I could bring mine to school.

　One night, I was watching my favorite video and I forgot to finish my homework. This happened again and again. Another night, I stayed up late while I played my favorite video game. The next morning, I was late for school because I couldn't wake up early. This also happened again and again. I often *fell asleep during class. Sometimes I left school early because I was too tired to study. My school grades started to go down.

　One day, my mother said to me, "Ririka, the way that you use your smartphone is not good! I think we need to make some rules for using smartphones." "Is this a joke, Mom?" I didn't think her idea was good. "Did I do something wrong? I don't think such rules are necessary." My mother got angry with my words. Then she said, "Let's *discuss this problem later!" "I'm so sorry, Mom. Maybe you are right," I said.

　The next day, my dad, mom, and younger brother made family smartphone rules together.

In the end, the rules were decided as follows:

　① We cannot bring a smartphone to the bedrooms (use it in the living room only).

　② We cannot use our smartphones after 10:00pm.

　③ Only one game app is allowed.

　④ We should check smartphones to *confirm that everyone follows the rules.

　I have been following the rules for a few months. At first, it was very difficult for me to keep them. But thanks to the support from my family, I was able to do it. From this experience, I learned that helping each other is very important. And I am so happy because my smartphone troubles disappeared.

　By the way, I think my father and brother are doing something bad recently on their smartphones. Maybe they are playing more than one game app? I need to check their smartphones soon!
